Zoe Black Sport Psychology aims to provide you with information and support, that will help you better understand how your thinking and behaviour may be impacting your performance and your life.
I aim to work with clients to develop their understanding of themselves and teach them skills and techniques that will help them enhance their performance on and off the pitch and ultimately to live a rich and more meaningful life.
Zoe Black Sport Psychology aims to; empower individuals to lead themselves and others, to raise public awareness and increase understanding of what sport psychology is, and to encourage individuals to be open and honest with themselves and live a life that is meaningful.

ABOUT ME
Sport & Exercise Psychologist
I am a chartered sport and exercise psychologist with the British Psychological Society and a practitioner psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council. I have a Doctorate in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Glasgow Caledonian University.
Based in Scotland, I work for the Scottish Institute of Sport, supporting Olympic and Aspiring athletes across a number of sports including Swimming, Diving, Hockey and Squash. I have experience working with organisations, groups and individual clients of all ages. My practice can take place in person or online based on preference.
Honesty, empathy and respect are my guiding principles. My practice takes a holistic approach encompassing all aspects of a client’s life into our work. I am committed to providing a safe space where clients can feel free from judgement and explore their thoughts and feelings. I believe sport psychology is as much about personal development and wellbeing as it is about performance enhancement.

WHAT IS SPORT PSYCHOLOGY?
Sport and exercise psychology is the study and application of all psychological factors that are associated with performance and participation in sport and exercise. It covers a broad range of topics and uses a vast array of skills to enhance individuals sporting performance and well-being.
Who can work with a sport psych?
Sport psychology is not just for elite athletes. Amateur sportspeople, coaches and referees can also benefit from working with a sport psych. Sport psychology should be for everyone.
A sport psychologist can work with individuals or with teams/groups. You don’t have to have problem to work with a sport psych you might just be looking to improve an aspect of your performance.
What does a sport psych do?
A sport psychologist will listen to you, work with you to develop this understanding and teach you skills and techniques that can help you reach your potential on and off the pitch.
